Warhammer Imperium – Coming to America (and Canada)

In the first part of this weeks news, we have had confirmation that Warhammer Imperium will be coming to Canada. But the stock in the northern half of the continent will be limited.

They won’t be heavily advertising the series with ads, so basically when it comes out in America on January 26th 2022. Canadians will be able to subscribe too. I don’t have a massive audience reach in the Americas, so I’ll be sure to let Rob know over at Spikey Bits and he can help get the word out,

But just to be clear, if you are from Canada and want Imperium. head on over to the Imperium website in Jan. We’ll have more info on when subscriptions go live in the coming weeks.

Warhammer Imperium Destroyer Destroyed

Several people have noticed this on the Facebook Page and on our Discord channel, so let’s address the elephant in the room – yes, the Necron Destroyer has been removed from the full collection.

Depending on where you’ve been looking, this could surprise you.

If you have the poster from issue 1, you won’t have seen the destroyer anyway. However, if you look on the website (still), or on our full collection breakdown (which was based on the original website photo, and needs updating) shows this destroyer model below.

Warhammer Imperium Destroyer

Sure this is a loss, but it’s only a basic £15 model and the value of the collection is still amazing without it.

As for why it’s gone, no idea. It’s probably a monetary reason. But it could just be that they just don’t have enough stock left of this legacy sprue and don’t plan on making more.

I could ask Hachette why it’s gone, but I’ll just get some line about “how it balances the collection more and it was felt that this change was for creative reasons in the magazine…”

So why bother asking? It’s gone. Let’s deal with the loss and move on, Remember, the journey now is Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression then Acceptance. The time to get over this will differ for everybody.

Some Popular Necron models, personally I’m a fan of the grotesque flesh draped over these scary robots. I’m pretty sure the design inspiration here comes from T-800 meets Freddy Kruger.

Certainly, worth a couple (or 5) of copies of these ones just to pad out the force (and for the value of the savings), you won’t get these much cheaper for the foreseeable future.

Whilst 10 are shown below, this image is from the contents of Warhammer 40,0000 Indomituis where you got 2 of these sprues. Just like with issue 13. This sprue also comes in the Warhammer 40,000 Starter Sets

So again, it is worth picking up a couple of copies. though only the Seargeant can be built in multiple ways. 3 ways specifically.

They are still some of the best rank-and-file Space Marine sculpts we’ve ever had and the kitbash opportunities are solid.

I need to admit, I’m not 100% on this one, the description I got was a Necron Technomancer. After a quick search online and comparing it to our full collection breakdown, I’m pretty certain that this is the model we are getting.

Damn good price for a command model so I expect this will be scalped.

In light of the fact that between scalpers and your advice, the scant 1-2 of “in demand” issues that stores are stocking are being taken up by one person wanting them all each time, can you please stop suggesting everyone “stock up to save money” on certain issues?

Hatchett stopped taking subscriptions which mean some people literally are buying every issue separately and it sucks for them that they can’t actually get involved in a weekly-follow on magazine designed to get people into the hobby because you’re telling people to strategically purchase as though this was some sort of black friday sale.

I’ll assume based on your comments that Imperium is your first Warhammer Partworks collection?

I say this because throughout Conquest and Mortal Realms, we had the same issues and there was a running joke regarding scalpers buying up multiple copies of the popular issues. Issue 5’s with the exclusive models. Conquest issue’s 24 & 25, most of the character issues Such as Typhus. Issues 75-77. All of these were scalped and people were rightly miffed of. AS for my assumption that you are new here, it is because my attitude and commentary around the situation has developed from warning about scalpers, through to getting in on the running joke. Forgive me that I have lost sight of the newer people would not be taking my commentary above of (buy 5 copies) as no more than humour. (that’s on me)

I know you are probably miffed that you have missed out on an issue. But please don’t blame me for the fact that scalpers gonna scalp. I still remember the pain of going to fetch White Dwarf issue 75 as I did every week from Warhammer World. only to find out it had sold out before 10:10 am due to it having a free (the first) Stormcast model included on the cover.

As I’m aware of the scalping issue, and in order to help you all out as best I can. I always do a 24hr pre-announcement as to when the new content will drop. at least then everyone has a fair warning to check it out at the same time, find out what’s coming and get the orders in.
