We’re back with another look at everything Age of Sigmar. With the next edition of the iconic game announced but a few weeks ago, and the contents of the incredible Skaventide box now out in the wider world (“tide” also seems to rank amongst Games Workshop’s favourite words), the death knell for Age of Sigmar Third Edition has well and truly tolled. Now is, however, a great time to make sure you’ve stocked up on any miniatures for your army so you’re ready to leap right into Fourth Edition this summer!

As ever, we’ll do a quick rundown of everything that has been in or is due to come to newsagents and supermarkets near you over the last/next few weeks. There’s not too much to go through this month, so it should be a quick one.

Extras

Those who subscribe via Hachette will receive their final Stormbringer binder this month!

The artwork hasn’t changed since the first one, so there’s nothing new here. However, Yndrasta plunging into a chaotic mass of corruption remains one of my all-time favourite pieces of Warhammer art.

The Magazines

Okay, moving swiftly on, we’ll do our standard quick run through everything you can expect to see in the magazines this month, starting with Issue 63, the Arknaut Admiral mag. As you’d expect from the front cover alone, there’s some lore on Kharadron sky-ports and Chaos – Slaanesh specifically – as well as a thorough painting guide to get you started with the Arknaut Admiral that comes with this issue. The magazine also contains his warscroll and tutorial, as well as a new battleplan.

Issue 64, which comes with Loonking Skragrott and features this Gitz hero on the cover, takes readers on a tour of the Realm of Fire, and delves into the history of Gobsprakk, the Mouth of Mork. You’ll find a complete assembly guide and a thorough paint guide for your new miniature too, as well as his warscroll, tutorials, and a new battleplan.

Issue 65, which comes with the Guardian Idol terrain feature, contains new lore about the Skaven and Kruleboys. You’ll also find a short story for you to sink your teeth into, as well as all the assembly and painting instruction you need for your new terrain piece. The magazine is rounded off with more rules and battleplans. This month’s fold-out insert focusses on core tactics for your games – such as spellcasting and shooting, as well as anticipating your opponent.

Finally, Issue 66, which comes with your next two paints, takes readers to the Realm of Life and the cities of Ghyran. Included is also a guide for using your two new paints – Squig Orange and Wild Rider Red – and walks you through some ways to use it on your current models. There are then new tactics for your Aleguzzler Gargant and Mollog’s Mob and then, in keeping with style, a final battleplan for your next game.

Miniatures

Issue 63 comes with the spectacular Arknaut Admiral miniature.

Extremely easy to build, this chap goes together like a dream – and will look awesome leading your new Kharadron Overlords army into battle.

Issue 64 comes with Skragrott the Loonking. This impressive miniature – featuring the titular goblin and his two squig cloak-carriers – is a little trickier to assemble.

His head and crown are made of three separate components that need to be glued together at different intervals in the build process. It’s a touch fiddly, so take your time – and, for the love of god, ensure all your sprue gates have been removed from the edges of the miniature before you start trying to stick anything down.

Finally, Issue 65 comes with the Guardian Idol scenery piece.

Easy to assemble and made from large, tactile pieces, even if you aren’t a big fan of paining scenery, this one is a pleasure to put together. It also comes with a variant head, so you don’t have to build the exact model that I have done here.

Note that the Guardian Idol is currently listed as no longer available on GW’s webstore. If you’re after this piece of terrain, be sure to pick it up, as with the next edition of Age of Sigmar looming, this might be your last chance to do so.

Paints and Tools

Issue 66 comes with your next two paints – Wild Rider Red and Squig Orange.

I don’t think I’ve ever painted a model with any red on it that hasn’t featured at least one of these paints. Wild Rider Red is the upper highlight colour for the Mephiston Red triad (Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet, Wild Rider Red) and Squig Orange can work as an even finger highlight for this.

In spite of a very low model count this time round, there’s still a reasonable amount of savings on offer in this month’s delivery.

The Good	The Bad
Reasonable savings and nice models…	…just not very many of them.

Compared to some of the previous deliveries we’ve seen, it’s tough to argue that Delivery 17 isn’t a little bit on the lacklustre side. With only two models and a piece of terrain across the four issues, it’s not the most exciting of months.

Still, those models that do come in Delivery 17 are nice – the Arknaut Admiral is a cool little figure, and Loonking Skragrott is great (albeit a little tough to build). In addition to this, there are still some decent savings to be had across the issues – especially Issue 63 and Issue 64 (and if you’re a terrain aficionado, don’t forget about Issue 65).
