JoyToy x Warhammer Bladeguard Veterans Revealed

Last Updated on March 16, 2022 by FauxHammer

Hi all, this will be a brief post from me today, and rife with spelling errors. For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram (why not?), you won’t be aware of my recent hand injury, preventing any hobbying and forcing me to type with the single index-digit available on my dominant misshapen claw. Anyway. lets took at some damn fine new JoyToy Bladeguard models

JoyToy X Warhammer – Bladeguard Veterans

So, we were actually expecting these models to come out based on the presentation slide from JoyToy themselves. (you can see that on our full collection breakdown). Around this time we are also expecting Chaos Space Marine Havocs, a Helbrute and Ultramarine Venerable Dreadnought.

These However, look damn impressive and no matter what your allegiance to certain chapters is. I’m confident to say, you want these Action figures!?

I find it odd that this is now the 6th/7th reveal from JoyToy in China, yet the initial Infiltrator/Incursor models put up for preorder by GW back in September still haven’t found their way to people’s houses yet? have they? I’m so glad I’ve been buying all mine from Locker Toys.

I think the only thing stopping people from just importing these is some expectation that the included card will be in English – though I personally don’t expect this will be the case?

Ok, let’s have a close look at the models.

JoyToy X Warhammer – Brother Seargeant Proximo

The first chap here is the leader of the group

he has the usual Seargeant embellishments such as the red with white stripe helmet. he also has a plasma pistol.

JoyToy X Warhammer – Brother A

The second model, which is unnamed is almost identical to the next. though this guy comes with a bolt pistol

The only difference really is some f the smaller accessory pouches and placement of purity seals

JoyToy X Warhammer – Brother B

The final model of the 3 is almost identical to the last sans the head sculpt

Odd that this model comes without a hand pistol of any kind yet there is the option for us to install a holster with or without a weapon in it?

Where to buy JoyToy x Warhammer Models

If you did not see our previous post on this specific topic, then I just wanted this section here to remind everyone that we have partnered with Locker Toys who I have been buying from since the second wave of models.

You can wait to see if GW release them for preorder on their site and wait 6 months. Or, do what you would do with McFarlane’s models and just buy them from wherever has them available soonest. and Consistently, Locker Toys has them up faster than anyone. They also offer significant discounts on pre-orders. which even makes them cheaper than buying from GW in the UK.

Keep an eye on this page for when they appear

Joytoy X Warhammer – Bladeguard Veterans Final Thoughts

yep, these are 100% on my must-buy (3 boxes of) list. I want to paint a set as Dark Angels and another as blood angels along with keeping the originals.

I just wish we could buy them as individual models like with the Mcfarlane figures. These are much more true to their tabletop counterparts. These are “Quality” over Mcfarlane’s “Scale”.

I just wish we had more pro-painters having a go at one of these.

If you are into the JoyToy models, they come back next week for even more goodness. There’s a lot more coming in the future, you should expect up to 7 new models revealed every month! And what’s that I hear the sound of in the far distance!? Could that be some filth Xenos? Prepare to purge brothers.

Oh so they have finally turned up! Can you advise if the character cards are in English?

Interestingly – no cards in them, so delay wasn’t to have English cards printed and added!

I dig them overall. the faces look much improved over previous joytoy 40k sculpts (chaos lord in particular!) – however I don’t get why they’ve made the helmet lenses look so bug-eyed compared to the gw sculpts. just stick to the source material please. regardless, I will be getting these for sure (and probably print out some more faithful helmets).
