Warhammer Imperium Magazine Issues 39 – 42 Contents

We’ve crossed the halfway point with these issues and whilst we’ve not seen a Space marine for a while, we do have the first of our Adepta Sororitas units shown this week.

Apologies for the delay, I’ve had the whole Sticker Album to do this week!

The second of three Kataphron Destroyers (which can also be built as Kataphron Breachers) arrives in issue 39. This half-man, half-tank Adeptus Mechanicus figure is covered in all sorts of details and will be a great challenge for any budding painter.

Kataphron Destroyers (or Breachers, depending on which you wish to build) usually come in a set of three, each on a different sprue. This is the sprue you get with Issue 39.

And if one wasn’t enough (or, technically, two), Issue 40 furnishes collectors with the final of their trio of Kataphron Destroyers.

This chap is, we believe, also going to be the last AdMech unit we’ll see with the Imperium subscription. If you skip ahead to Issue 41, you’ll get to see who’ll be filling their weird little robotic shoes.

And here’s the third and final Destroyer sprue.

First released in the Pariah Nexus expansion for the last edition of Kill Team, the Necron Chronomancer has at last broken free form that car-crash of a boxed set and distanced himself from the Flayed Ones he was unfortunate enough to be partnered up with at his initial release.

This stand-out figure is one that will have any Necron fan drooling – the tentacle-legged robo wizard with his lollipop of doom is a really special model, so this issue won’t be hanging around long. Make sure you grab a copy before everyone else does!

As I mentioned earlier, the Kataphron Destroyers that came in Issues 39 and 40 looks to be the last AdMech units that we’ll be getting with Imperium. Everyone’s favourite Martian robo-people will be being replaced by the iconic Adepta Sororitas – the Sisters of Battle – as the magazine shifts its focus onto other parts of the Imperium. The first Sisters figure people will receive is a Canoness, who arrives with Issue 42.

A quick search on Games Workshop’s webstore will reveal that this is not the standard Canoness you can pick up anywhere at any time. No, this stunning model is actually the Canoness who came with 2019’s Sisters of Battle Army Set and, as far as I’m aware, isn’t currently available anywhere else. (Update: It’s also now in the Sisters Combat Patrol box)

Much like the Chronomancer from the magazine before her, the Canoness will be an extremely desirable model to own. If you want to ensure you’re able to get your hands on one of these, make sure you pre-order or reserve a copy!

Although this model isn’t currently available for individual purchase directly from Games Workshop (or anywhere, for that matter), A huge thanks to one of our readers, who pointed out that this figure is available as part of the Sisters of Battle Combat Patrol, which contains the 4 sprues from the Sisters of Battle Launch box the 3 from the Sororitas Rhino.

Still, we’ve calculated the values in the table below based on the “regular” Canoness.

Warhammer Imperium Magazine Contents – What’s Left?

The next couple of deliveries look to be very promising. With the majority of the filler – all those Necron Warriors and Primaris Assault Intercessors, for example – well and truly in the past, what remains in the latter half of the Imperium subscription is indeed rather tantalising.

What are you looking forward to the most? Personally, I’m looking forward to getting Calgar and Guilliman, as well as the remaining Adepta Sororitas stuff that’s yet to come.

Warhammer Imperium Magazine Issues 39 – 42 Contents – Final Thoughts

Whilst the models in issues 39-42 are few in number, they are significant – both in terms of savings as well as what’s yet to come in the Imperium magazine. The final two Kataphron Destroyers herald the end of the Adeptus Mechanicus’ time in the Imperium spotlight, whilst the inclusion of the Canoness signals that it’s the Sisters of Battle’s time to shine.

Oh, there’s also a Chronomancer in there to make sure we don’t forget that there are also Necrons involved in this magazine subscription.

Jokes aside, the Chromonancer is definitely one of the best Necron models out there, so he’s definitely one worth watching out for. What we haven’t seen for a while, though, are any Space Marines, so we must be due an injection of the Emperor’s Swolest at some point in the near future.

Check back again next month to see what’s up next!

The Canoness is available as part of the current Sisters of Battle Combat Patrol. The Combat Patrol is the 4 sprues from the Sisters of Battle Launch box (including this one) and the 3 from the Sororitas Rhino. £90 divided by 7 sprues is a cost for the Canoness of at £12.85 approximately. It’s limited on load out so not quite worth the same as the multipart but it is a lovely model.

You are, of course, 100% correct. I’m going to add this to the article now – many thanks!

If the lychguard comes as one issue I will definitely want to get a couple of copies. They are across 3 half sprues tho so I think it’s more likely gonna be over two issues. Don’t think we have had that much plastic in an issue before
