Warhammer Age of Sigmar Stormbringer Delivery 14: Issues 51-54 Review – Introduction
With the arrival of Delivery 14 – and the subsequent run of issues 51-51 – a new faction is introduced to buyers and subscribers: the technologically-advanced Kharadron Overlords. Read on for a first look at this newcomer to the Stormbringer magazine subscription.
Delivery 14 also furnishes premium subscribers with their third kit which – you guessed it – will see you flush with even more Kharadron Overlords miniatures.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar Stormbringer Delivery 14: Issues 51-54 Review – Contents
As ever, we’ll start with a quick look at the magazines from across the last few weeks, then move on to look at the other goodies.
The Magazines
Issue 51 takes readers on a deep-dive into the murky underworld of the Gloomspite Gitz before providing you with an in-depth building and painting guide for your brand-new Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig.
Issue 52 introduces readers to the latest faction to enter the Stormbinger ring to slug it out – the Kharadron Overlords – but also includes a short story for fans of Stormcast Eternals and the Forces of Chaos. There’s then all the stuff you need to get started on the Endrinmaster with Dirigible Suit that comes in this issue, as well as new tactical info for your armies.

Issue 53 takes you on a tour of the Lumineth Realm-Lords and the perils of Slaaneshi cults, before explaining how to use the two paints that come with this issue on your existing miniatures. Similar to the previous several issues, the magazine rounds itself off with a tactical deep-dive into a few of the factions to ensure you’re getting the most out of your miniatures. The fold-out that comes with this issue also serves as a showcase for the Lumineth Realm-Lords – who, as far as we know – won’t be appearing in this magazine.
Finally, Issue 54 contains new info on the Maggotkin of Nurgle and the Realm of Death, as well as all the construction, painting, and gaming info you need for the Sneaky Snufflers that come with this issue.
Miniatures
Issue 51 comes with the hilarious and charming Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig.

This model is super easy to assemble, but does come with a few gaps and seams around crucial points – such as the Cave Squig’s face, as you can see above – so be wary of these as you assemble the miniature.
Issue 52 comes with your first Kharadron Overlords figure: the Endrinmaster in Dirigible Suit.

The Endrinmaster – whilst an impressive figure once assembled – is a bit of a faff to put together, simply due to the vast amount of parts this single miniature has (personally, gluing on the soles of his boots was a real kicker for me). Also, if yours is anything like mine, it might be drizzled in a healthy helping of mould lines (as you can see in the picture above). Make sure you remove these with the appropriate tool.
Finally, Issue 54 comes with six cheeky and irreverent Sneaky Snufflers – mushroom-gathering goblins using large-nosed Squigs to hunt down their prey (and more mushrooms, one assumes).

Super easy to assemble, these miniatures won’t be a challenge to you at all – especially if you’ve been building along with every delivery so far.
Paints and Tools
Issue 53 nets buyers two new paints: Stormhost Silver and Ogryn Camo. Ogryn Camo is a fantastic paint for highlighting the flesh of any Orks/Orruks you might have in your collection (as well as for working on natural surfaces, such as plants and leaves). Stormhost Silver, like any metallic Citadel layer paint, is a bit divisive.

Many painters swear by Stormhost Silver as a fantastic metallic highlight colour, but many others feel it is too thin and has poor coverage and would much rather use Scale75’s metallic paints. Personally, I used Stormhost Silver for a long time before switching to Scale75’s Heavy Metal instead, which I find has better coverage. Ultimately, however, I’d recommend giving both a go and seeing which you get on with best.
Premium Kit 3
Also included in Delivery 14 for all you premium subscribers who get your copies directly from Hachette is your third Premium Kit.

As mentioned in the introduction to this article, this kit nets you a whole host of Kharadron Overlords miniatures (and, if you’re me, the chilling realisation it’s Kharadron, not Kharadon, and you’ve been saying it wrong for the last three years).

So, what extra goodies lie within, you ask? Well, unlike with previous Premium Kits, which have included single, larger miniatures, Premium Kit 3 comes with five new figures for you to get your brushes around.
The first is the Aetheric Navigator. Unlike the Endrinmaster who comes with Issue 52, this guy is much, much easier to build.

You’ll also get three funky Kharadron Skywardens – floating steampunk dwarves, to you and I.

These guys are a touch more complicated to build, as with a few smaller, more fiddly parts, so take your time with them to avoid disappointment.
The pièce de résistance of Premium Kit 3, however, is the Grundstock Gunhauler.

This floating skyship festooned with guns and cannons is a far more complicated build, so really ensure you take your time with it. Things to watch out for include ensuring that the large balloon-like sphere atop the craft is fully stuck together (the rear half of mine kept popping out of place whenever I pushed down on the front), and the scaffolding/canopy that attached the lower half of the craft to that balloon-thing again (this is made up from several more fragile pieces, so take care when preparing them).

…And once again for our friends in the US. We’re still not 100% sure if the price rise we in the UK and Europe has happened overseas – if anyone from across the pond could let us know, that’d be fab.

Premium subscriber from the US here: We have not had a price increase so your chart is still correct (premium is 3 dollars more).
Interestingly, we are just getting delivery 6 but it did not advertise or bill the bonus Ogor model that you got. I’m wondering if it will be in a later delivery or if we will get the bonus models at all.
-Thanks for all your updates and info on the magazine!
Thanks, Jared! This is really helpful!
