introduction

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know that we have covered JoyToy figure releases since their inception. However, the amount of figures they have released is a staggering cavalcade that doesn’t stop – and that’s a great thing for collectors and people who love this line of figures. Recently, we’ve done a news article collating some releases from August to October, which by now are available to order and buy (provided they’re not sold out). We also have an article that serves as a full collection breakdown – but it is currently incomplete, due to the aforementioned cavalcade of releases, but we are in the process of updating it, so please do bear with us.

Now with all that waffle aside, let’s see what Space Marine-shaped gifts JoyToy come bearing.

October Releases

October releases? You mean, the month that has just swung right by?

There were a few surprises that slipped by us in secret for October, and so was missed by over last coverage. Oh well, better late than never…

Grey Knights Nemesis Dreadknight

And what a big surprise this is. The Nemesis Dreadknight is a figure that will tower over the rest, even over some of the Dreadnoughts. The baby carrier is empty however, so you’re just getting the mecha suit and a choice of weapons between the sword and the hammer.

MSRP: GBP £295.00

Grey Knights Nemesis Dreadknight (Including Grey Knights Terminator Caddon Vibova)

Now, here’s the crux. You can get the Dreadknight on it’s own, but JoyToy also sell a Dreadknight with a Grey Knight Pilot. In my opinion, this should just have been the set – vehicle toys or models should always come with the driver or pilot! It’s common sense. And you got to put a lot more bob in – yay.

At least we have our first Grey Knight action figure in a while. I love the aesthetic, but not the actual miniatures – because they are hilariously out of scale with all the modern miniatures. We won’t have this problem here (hopefully), as the heads are actually proportionate here rather than comically over-sized.

The Dreadknight, in a pose like this, just looks excellent and so cool. I can overlook the baby carrier thing when this is the end result. It reminds me of the Bionicle Exo-Toa kit I had as a kid (and still do).

MSRP: £336.00

Dark Angels Supreme Grand Master Azrael

To follow up, we have another impressive figure in Supreme Grand Master Azrael, who also comes with his little jawa minion Watcher in the Dark to hold his things for him. He comes with a plethora of switchable accessories, like the sword, master crafted bolter, winged helmet, back banner and sword sheath.

MSRP: GBP £64.00

Dark Angels Master with Power Fist

We get some more Dark Angel flavour now, a few months after they got some serious attention from GW. First up, we have the Dark Angels Master with Power Fist, aka Big Fist Green Man.

It’s another stellar figure with many options, like the Borg eyepiece head, master crafted bolter and sword.

MSRP: GBP £51.00

Dark Angels Master Lazarus

Next up, we have a named Master in Lazarus, who matches up with the miniature with high fidelity.

MSRP: GBP £51.00

Ultramarines Lieutenant with Power Fist

It didn’t take long for us to return to the boys in blue. Now we have an Ultramarine Lieutenant with a power fist of his own. He also comes with a sword, plasma pistol and Calgar-like head.

MSRP: GBP £38.00

Ultramarines Captain in Gravis Armour

The Captain in Gravis Armour is another must-have for your collections – he comes with a choice of power sword and chainsword, as well as his chonky helmet and helmetless head.

MSRP: GBP £55.00

Black Templars Primaris Initiate Brother Raemont

Technically this was a September release, but he got missed in our last coverage, so I’m inserting him here. I’m always down with more Black Templars, especially those who carry massive flamethrowers.

MSRP: GBP £32.00

Adeptus Custodes Shield Captain with Guardian Spear

It’s time to give the Emperor’s golden bois some time to shine in the sun, and JoyToy do not let up! The first Custodes figure is a Shield Captain with Guardian Spear. It’s a very majestic thing to look at, to say the least.

MSRP: GBP £43.00

Adeptus Custodes Custodian Guard with Guardian Spear

Next up, we have the regular Custodian Guard – but he still looks epic all the same, holding his spear aloft like so.

MSRP: GBP £43.00

Adeptus Custodes Custodian Guard with Sentinel Blade and Praesidium Shield

The Custodian Guard with the sword and shield look even cooler than the spear one, in my opinion.

MSRP: GBP £43.00

Adeptus Custodes Custodian Guard with Sentinel Blade

We have a Custodian Guard wth just the sword, bit of a step down from the previous for the same price – though he has a different head.

MSRP: GBP £43.00

Adeptus Custodes Vexilus Praetor

To round up the Custodes releases, there’s the Vexilus Praetor, whose enormous Aguilar banner nets him a few more quid over his brothers in arms.

MSRP: GBP £45.00

Adeptus Mechanicus Cybernetica Datasmith

The first Adeptus Mechanicus figures produced by JoyToy have arrived! Worship the Machine Spirit in style with this highly detailed Cybernetica Datasmith. He looks like he’s got so many moving parts that he is the definition of ‘being a bit extra’.

MSRP: GBP £62.00

Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii Marshal

Next up, we have the Skitarii Marshal, who strides in with such swagger, swinging his cane, dapper cape and pirate pistol around.

MSRP: GBP £55.00

Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii Rangers

Now for some cannon fodder to lead. JoyToy are releasing 3 Skitarii Ranger variants with a unique variety of wargear, so it’s worth breaking them individually.

Skitarii Ranger Alpha

I’m not au fait with AdMech, so I don’t know what these weapons are calld, but the Alpha comes with what looks like a nightstick and some kind of steampunk shotgun? Feel free to correct in the comments.

MSRP: GBP £47.00

Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii Ranger with Transuranic Arquebus

For me, this is the coolest one of the Ranger bunch. I really like that the rifle has a stand and you can pose it like a stationary gunner.

MSRP: GBP £45.00

Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii Ranger with Data-tether

The final ranger has a data-tether, which translates to overly compensating massive backpack.

MSRP: GBP £45.00

November Releases

Adeptus Mechanicus Kastelan Robot with Incendine Combustor

It wouldn’t be long until we graduated to getting big robots! The Kastelan is a marvellous kit, and I imagine will be a lot of fun to play around with.

MSRP: GBP £81.00

Vétérans garde-lame

November brings us some more Bladeguard Veterans of other chapters, after last year’s glut of them.

We have a Veteran to each represent the Dark Angels (the Lion’s Guard specifically), Salamanders and the White Consuls.

MSRP: GBP £37.00

Ultramarines Vanguard

We’re going back to the Firstborn era with the Ultramarine Vanguard – unique for their massive over-the-top jetpacks.

Speaking of the jetpacks, each figure comes with a transparent flight stand so you can have them levitating off your desk. They look pretty good, not gonna lie.

We have three variants – the Veteran Sergeant, the Veteran with Chainsword and the Veteran with Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield. The latter looks amazing above all.

MSRP: GBP £48-49.00

Astra Militarum Cadian Command Squad

Cadia Stands! We have our first releases from the Cadian wing of the Imperial Guard/ Astra Militarum, and they are based off the Cadian Command Squad that were released as miniatures late last year. We get the full squad in JoyToy scale.

Commander with Power Sword

Naturally first up, we have the Squad Commander with power sword – who’s sporting an awkward poop-eating ‘Hide the Pain Harold’ grin that I would be quite keen on covering up.

MSRP: GBP £34.00

Veteran Sergeant with Power Fist

His second in command is the Veteran Sergeant with a Power Fist, who can and will slap the heresy out of you.

MSRP: GBP £34.00

Veteran with Medi-Pack

The Veteran with Medi-Pack comes with his medi-pack (who would have guessed), as well as a pair of lasguns and a bonesaw for some sinister surgery.

MSRP: GBP £34.00

Veteran with Master Vox

I don’t know even know what this is meant to be – it’s a guy with handle bars on his back and a typewriter on his front. Master Vox sounds like a DJ who’s about to drop some hot tracks and start beatboxing.

MSRP: GBP £37.00

Veteran with Regimental Standard

Finally, we have the biggest figure of the lot – he who holds the giant flag. Your Command Squad would be incomplete without him.

MSRP: GBP £38.00

Astra Militarum Ordnance Team with Bombast Field Gun Artillery

Continuing with the Guard theme, we get a much larger set of figures in one box – three Guardsmen crew and the new Bombast Field Gun Battery. This one is basically a 1/18 diorama in a box, and we’re all here for it.

MSRP: GBP £89.00

Astra Militarum Bombast Field Gun

If you just want the gun battery on its own, JoyToy have you covered.

MSRP: GBP £59.00

Astra Militarum Ordnance Team with Malleus Rocket Launcher Ordnance Brigade

The other big Guard gun is the Malleus Rocket Launcher – and you get a different set of crew, so were you to get both sets, you have no clone figures.

MSRP: GBP £89.00

Astra Militarum Malleus Rocket Launcher

And we have the Malleus Rocket Launcher on its lonesome.

MSRP: GBP £59.00

Adepta Sororitas Retributors

Next up, we have a trio of Adepta Sororitas Retributors – nuns with guns to go with those from last year.

Adepta Sororitas Retributor with Heavy Bolter

For me, this is the coolest variant. All of them come with the helmet and head options, but this one’s helmet has the big eye-piece, presumably for scoping.

MSRP: GBP £43.00

Adepta Sororitas Retributor with Heavy Flamer

The Battle Sister with the heavy flamer is an absolutely mean looking figure. The flamer is almost half the volume of the figure!

MSRP: GBP £43.00

Adepta Sororitas Retributor with Multi-Melta

The final figure has an even chunkier gun in the form of the multi-melta. More purgin’ all around.

MSRP: GBP £43.00

December Releases

Dark Angels Primarch Lion El’Jonson

Finally, we save the best until last.

We had Guilliman last August, and now we’re getting his gruffer greener brother, the Lion.

There’s not much else to say in all honesty – I’d rather let these images speak for themselves. Just like the model kit, you get multiple options for head – helmet, hood with helmet, hood no helmet, bare head. You also get his Jawa mates, though the images suggest that they are completely static – no poseability for them, but did they need any?

MSRP: GBP £135.00

JoyToy x Warhammer – The Future

There is no doubt that, very soon, there will be more news and reveals for more JoyToy figures to come in the immediate future, considering we have two months of the year left, so what does January have in store for us?

More Space Marines? More Xenos and Chaos? Hopefully more of the latter than the former, but I’m sure there’s loads more of the Imperium left to cover too. JoyToy have 40 years worth of content to mine from, and personally, they could convert me if they made some Tyranids…

But what we do know is that figures based off the Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness is coming – so that signals even more Space Marines. But if you’re a big fan of the game and this era, then you’ll be on the floor screaming with joy, your house will be need make way for more figures, and your wallet will weep.

Watch this space when we hear more news on the JoyToy front.
