FauxHammer.com - Schreibteam

Over the last few years, the FauxHammer.com Writing Team has changed a great deal in a fairly short period of time. People have come and gone, some have come back again for a bit and then gone again, and others have stuck it out for the duration.

Below is a list of all current FauxHammer.com writers, as well as a little bit of info about each of them.

Note – the contents of this page were all written by FauxHammer.com’s own Rob.

FauxHammer – Ross

The O.G. The progenitor. The Mastermind. Mister 3D Printing Himself.

Ross is the original namesake, founder, and Editor-in-Chief of FauxHammer.com. Originally starting the site as a personal hobby blog around ten years ago, Ross decided to take things to the next level in 2016, when he rebranded the site into its first iteration of FauxHammer.com as you see it today.

Things have come a long way since FauxHammer_v.1.0, however. Now with millions of views, a thriving Youtube channel, and tens of thousands of followers across its other social platforms, Ross has carefully curated the FauxHammer.com brand into one synonymous with quality, that you as readers can put your trust into.

If you’ve ever found yourself picking through one of our Hachette Partworks Contents Lists or Contents Confirmed articles, these exist thanks to Ross’ hard work. If you’ve ever been at a gaming convention and run into a flustered bloke weighed down with half a ton of camera equipment and wearing a grey hoodie with “FauxHammer” embroidered on it, congratulations: you’ve met him in the wild.

With decades of experience in and around the miniature painting hobby, and now one of the fastest-emerging names in the YouTube 3D printing space, Ross’ home is overrun with paints, brushes, tiny plastic people (many of which he printed himself) and almost as many 3D printers. The smell of resin will never fully leave his home, and some say the fumes have addled his mind (this isn’t true: it’s being a content creator that’s done that).

Ross is the face of FauxHammer.com’s Youtube, and contributes to the site’s Hachette Partworks product coverage. Also, if you’ve ever messaged FauxHammer.com’s Facebook, Instagram, Youtube oder Twitter, it’s probably him that’s responded to you.

He desperately pines for the day Games-Workshop bring back Space Hulk.

VoltorRWH – Rob

Originally onboarded to the FauxHammer.com Writing Team as a fresh-faced hobby newcomer, since 2020 Rob has written and edited hundreds of articles for the site, covering everything from high-profile boxed game releases to painting handles, brushes, and wet palettes. It’s not exactly what he thought he’d be doing with a Master’s Degree in Medieval History and an award-winning thesis about medieval ghosts and zombies, but then again, the undead do have a habit of turning up on people’s painting desks and tabletops.

Now boasting the expansive (and somewhat improvised) title of Lead Writer and Assistant Editor, Rob has become one of the site’s mainstays. Now covering the majority of Games-Workshop product reviews and other high-profile releases, if it’s about Warhammer and it’s on FauxHammer.com, there’s a good chance that Rob wrote it.

When he’s not trying to clear his enormous pile of unpainted plastic or writing extended-copy reviews, Rob can usually be found prepping D&D sessions for his eight-strong adventuring group. Yes, he does voices – and yes, they are terrible.

You can find him on Twitter posting pictures of painting models at @VoltorRWH.

Seraphic Rex – Jordan

Having cut his teeth on the extensive Warhammer 40,000 Boarding Patrols range that was released at the start of 2023, Jordan has already made his mark on the FauxHammer.com content list. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing, and with almost twenty years of hobby experience under his belt, if there’s one Jordan certainly ist nicht, it’s underqualified.

Now at FauxHammer.com, he covers everything. From Warhammer Price and Savings Breakdowns and top-of-the-range wet palettes, to niche gaming systems and big-brand videogame tie-ins, Jordan brings his wealth of hobby and gaming experience to the forefront of FauxHammer’s content to produce informative, flawlessly-written copy for your reading pleasure.

If it’s a Games-Workshop IP and vaguely reminiscent of a dinosaur, Jordan has at least one display cabinet full of it. Woe betide any who cross his gargantuan Tyranids and Seraphon collections on the tabletop battlefield – or who dares challenge him to a discussion about palaeontology, in which he is an expert.
